Who I am

This website is operated by JVV Consulting (Jo van Vuuren), a marketing strategy consultancy based in Brighton, UK. I am the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact: [email protected].

Getting in touch

If you email me or use the contact form, I hold your name, email address and whatever you choose to tell me, so that I can reply. Contact-form messages are delivered to my inbox by Resend, an email delivery service. I use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and explore whether we might work together.

Booking a call

If you book a call through this site, I collect your name, email address and any notes you add. That information is used to create the meeting in my calendar (with you as an invitee, via Google Calendar), to generate the video-call link, and to send you the confirmation and a reminder email (via Resend). It is not used for anything else, and cancelling the call removes any scheduled reminders. The booking page reads only free/busy availability — it never exposes the contents of my calendar to you or yours to me.

Newsletter

If you sign up to the newsletter, your email address is stored with Resend and used only to send it. Every edition includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you. I will never add you to the list without your explicit sign-up.

Analytics & cookies

This site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Analytics runs only with your consent: a banner asks first, nothing loads if you decline, and the site works identically either way. Where consented, Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymisation and used only to understand how the site is read. The cookie policy page lists exactly what is stored and lets you change your choice at any time.

Lawful basis

I rely on legitimate interests to respond to enquiries and administer calls you book; on consent for the newsletter and analytics (withdrawable at any time); and on contract where we go on to work together.

Sharing & processors

I do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for their purposes. The services that process data on my behalf are: Cloudflare (site hosting), Google (calendar and video calls for booked meetings), Resend (email delivery), and — only with your consent — Google Analytics. Each processes data under its own data-processing terms.

Retention

Enquiries and booking details are kept for as long as needed to handle the conversation and any work that follows, then deleted. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data, where consented, is retained on the shortest setting the tool allows.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data I hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] and I'll act on it. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
