GreenTech Industries
Two UK Government-backed competitions entered, two won. The same discipline both times: lead with proof, answer the funder’s question, and argue national priorities with the company’s own evidence.

What I walked into
GreenTech Industries runs the UK’s first industrial-scale operation for precision EV battery disassembly: nine years of self-funded research, a wholly-owned IP portfolio built from every battery processed since 2017, and a live line in Southam taking around three tonnes of packs apart every week. Exactly the kind of business government innovation funding exists for.
But funding competitions aren’t won by being fundable. They’re scored, question by question, against criteria the funder publishes and applicants routinely fail to read the way an assessor will. GTI had the evidence. The work was building it into cases.
02 //
What was actually going on
Competitive bids are won and lost on the same ground everywhere: not whether the work is good, but whether the case is evidenced, specific and aimed at what the assessor is funding. The strongest technical story in the room still loses if it answers its own question instead of the funder’s.

The work
- 01
The Mobilise 2026 application
- Part of the team behind GTI’s winning application to Mobilise 2026: the UK Government’s early-stage accelerator for automotive and mobility innovators, delivered with the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK, Zenzic and Innovate UK.
- The case led with proof, not promise: a commercial operation running today, an independently validated method, and a precise account of what the programme would de-risk, namely the ADAM project’s digital twin, automation and replicable factory blueprint, with GTI as sole participant.
- National priorities argued with the company’s own evidence, tied directly to the UK Critical Minerals Strategy, rather than borrowed rhetoric.
- 02
The AutoDMR DRIVE35 award
- Supported the winning AutoDMR submission under DRIVE35, the UK Government’s programme backing the transition to zero-emission vehicle manufacturing.
- Business-case development and the narrative work: the commercial argument sequenced so the technical detail only arrives once the case for backing it has been accepted.
- 03
Announcing the wins
- Press programme across both awards and the facility move: each win turned into coverage, and the coverage into credibility for the next application.
- The Mobilise story written up in full on the Insights register: what the winning bid actually had to prove.

What changed
2
government-backed competitive bids won
A place on Mobilise 2026 (Advanced Propulsion Centre / Zenzic, backed by the Department for Business and Trade) and the AutoDMR DRIVE35 award, with further bids in the pipeline with Innovate UK and the APC.

case, argued in the funder’s terms each time
The same evidence base (operations, IP, independent validation) re-aimed at what each programme was actually scoring. The bid work sharpened how the business presents itself everywhere else.
Why this might matter to you //
If you have genuinely fundable work (a tender, a grant round, an award submission) this is the kind of case I build: reading the criteria the way the assessor will, and answering every scored question with evidence you already own.
Bid Writing Bid writing, grant applications and award entries that win: millions secured.
